Both Teams to Score

Both Teams to Score (often abbreviated as BTTS) is a popular betting market in football where you bet on whether both teams participating in a particular match will score at least one goal each during the game. This type of bet focuses on the goal-scoring aspect of the match rather than the final outcome (win, lose or draw).

Let’s take an example of how you can modify your odds for both back and lay bets.

Both Teams to Score Bet Example on Winfair24

In our scenario we will use the Premier League football match between Crystal Palace and Tottenham.

Back Bet (Betting on Yes – Both Teams to Score)

Let’s say you believe that both Crystal Palace and Tottenham will score the match, so you want to place a 100EUR back bet on “Yes” – Both Teams to Score.

Login to your Winfair24 account and go to the Exchange section.

On the left column of events, click on Soccer, find the Premier League football match between Crystal Palace and Tottenham and select the Both Teams to Score market.

Click on the blue box across the Yes row and you will see your betslip immediately open.

As you can see, the best available odds offered for your selection are at 1.76. For the sake of our example we will say that you don’t agree with the odds and you want to add more value to your bet. So, you decide to bet 100EUR on Yes – Both Teams to Score at odds 2.0. You will modify the odds by either typing 2.0 in the odds field or by using the upper bow and you will place your 100EUR stake right next to the odds field and you will be able to see your potential profit and losses under the words Yes and No respectively.

Click on the Submit button to confirm your bet and wait for another Winfair24 bettor to match your bet by laying it.

If both teams score at least one goal each in the match, you will your back bet and you will make a 100EUR profit minus the commission charged on your winning bets.

If the final score is 1-1, 2-1, 2-2 or any other combination where both teams score, you win.

If Crystal Palace or Tottenham does not manage to score in the game, then you lose your bet and you will end up with a 100 EUR loss.

Lay Bet (Betting Against Yes – Both Teams to Score)

In this case, you believe that at least one of the teams  will not score in the match, so you want to place a lay bet against Yes – Both Teams to Score.

Follow the same steps as with the Back Bet but instead on clicking on the blue box across the Yes row, click on the pink one and your betslip will immediately open.

As you can see, the best available odds offered for your selection are 1.83. You agree with the odds offered and you decide to place a 100 EUR lay bet. Place your stake right next to the odds field and you will see your potential liability and profit under the words Yes and No respectively. Click on the Submit button to confirm your bet and wait another Winfair24 bettor to match your bet by backing it.

If at least one team fails to score in the match, you will win your lay bet and you will have a 100EUR minus the commission return. If the final score is 0-0, 1-0, 0-3  or any other combination where at least one team doesn’t score, you win.

If both teams manage to score at least one goal in the game, then you lose your lay bet and you will have to payout the backer 83EUR.

As you can observe, the primary difference between a back and a lay bet is your perspective on the outcome. In your back bet, you have bet on an outcome to happen – in this case, both teams to score – while in your lay bet, you bet against it – in this case, at least one team not to score.

Always keep in mind that the odds on betting exchanges fluctuate quickly based on the market activity and the events occurring in the match. Therefore, you need to be quick in your reflexes as you may not always find the odds you initially saw.

Betting on Both Teams to Score is like predicting if both football teams will score at least one goal in the match. This is a simple and exciting way to enjoy the game, regardless of the final score.
