Over / Under
The Over/Under (O/U) bet type is very popular and it is used in soccer, American football, basketball, and other sports where scoring is involved.
The basic idea is to predict whether the total number of goals or points scored in a game will be over or under a certain predefined value set by the betting exchange. On any betting exchange like Winfair24, you can either back and over/under selection or lay it.

Backing Over/Under Bets

Over 4.5 Goals: Backing Over 4.5 Goals means you believe there will be at least five goals in the game. If the final goals scored in the match are five or more, you win. If the final score is 5-0, 4-1, 3-3 etc you win your bet.
Under 4.5 Goals: Backing Under 4.5 Goals means you believe there will be four or fewer goals in the game. If there are indeed four or fewer goals scored in the match, you win. If the final score is 2-0, 2-2, 3-1, 3-0, 1-0 etc, you win your bet.
Over 5.5 Goals: Backing Over 5.5 Goals means you believe there will be six or more goals in the game. You win if the total goals scored are six or more. If the final score is 6-0, 4-2, 5-1, 5-2, 3-4 etc you win your bet.
Under 5.5 Goals: Backing Under 5.5 Goals means you believe there will be five or fewer goals in the game. You win if the total goals scored are five or fewer. If the final score is 3-2, 3-0, 2-2 etc you win your bet.
Over 6.5 Goals: Backing Over 6.5 Goals means you believe there will be seven or more goals in the game. You win if the total goals scored are seven or more. If the final score is 7-1, 6-2, 5-4, 6-1 etc you win your bet.
Under 6.5 Goals: Backing Under 6.5 Goals means you believe there will be six or fewer goals in the game. You win if the total goals scored are six or fewer. If the final score is 4-2, 5-0, 3-3, 2-0 etc you win your bet.
Laying Over/Under Bets
Over 0.5 Goals: Laying Over 0.5 Goals means you believe there will not be any goals scored in the game. If no goals are scored you win. If the final score is 0-0 you win your lay bet. If at lease one goal is scored you lose your lay bet.
Under 0.5 Goals: Laying Under 0.5 Goals means you believe there will be at least one goal in the game. You believe that the match will not end in zero goals scored. If the match ends with at least one goal scored, you win your lay bet. If the final score is 0-0, you lose your bet. If the final score is 1-0, 1-1 etc you win your bet.
Over1.5 Goals: Laying Over 1.5 Goals means you believe there will not be at least two goals in the game. You win if the total goals scored are one ore zero. If the final score is 1-0, 0-0, 0-1 you win your lay bet. If the final score is 1-1, 2-0 etc you lose your lay bet.
Under 1.5 Goals: Laying Under 1.5 Goals means you believe the match will not end with only one goal scored. You believe there will be two or more goals in the game. If the final score is 1-1, 2-0, 3-1 etc you win your lay bet. If the final score is 1-0, 0-1 or 0-0 you lose your lay bet.

Over/Under Bet Example
Let’s see an Over/Under bet on WInfair24. Say you want to place Over/Under bets on the Crystal Palace v Tottenham match. You can both back and lay these bets. Backing means you are betting that a specific outcome will happen (e.g Over 2.5 Goals). Laying means you are betting against a specific outcome (e.g Under 2.5 Goals). Backing Over 2.5 Goals
Login to your Winfair24 account and go to the Exchange.
On Soccer, search for the Premier League match Crystal Palace v Tottenham, click on it and select the Over/Under 2.5 Goals market.
As you want to back the Over 2.5 Goals selection you need to click on the blue box across the Over 2.5 Goals row.

You can accept the odds, and place your stake or you can modify them. For our example say you do not agree with the odds and you believe it should be at 2.0.
